IndieMoons Arts Festival 2026 Set for Bhopal Debut

IndieMoons Arts Festival 2026 will feature top theatre artists and iconic plays at Ravindra Bhavan from March 26 to 29.

Grand Theatre Showcase

Bhopal is set to host a major cultural event as the IndieMoons Arts Festival 2026 will be held from March 26 to 29 at Ravindra Bhavan’s Hansdhwani Auditorium. Organised by Rang Theatre, Cultural and Social Welfare Society, the four-day festival will bring together some of India’s most acclaimed theatre artists, offering audiences a rich lineup of performances every evening at 7:30 pm.

Star-Studded Lineup

The festival will open on March 26 with actor Nitish Bharadwaj presenting his widely discussed play ‘Chakravyuh’. On March 27, marking World Theatre Day, veteran actor Rakesh Bedi will stage his popular one-man show ‘Massage’, returning to the stage after nearly 12 years.

Classic Plays Return

On March 28, actors Sanjay Mishra and Santosh Juvekar will perform Vijay Tendulkar’s iconic play ‘Ghashiram Kotwal’, which is also making a comeback after over a decade. The festival will conclude on March 29 with Shekhar Suman’s ‘Ek Mulaqat’, based on the unfinished love story of Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam.

Press Meet Highlights

The announcement was made during a press conference held in Bhopal, where festival director Bijon Mandal addressed the media along with organising members Manoj Joshi, Mukul Tripathi, Hariom Tiwari, and Balendra Singh ‘Ballu’. According to the organisers, the festival aims to create a meaningful cultural exchange through theatre.

Why Bhopal Chosen

Organisers said Bhopal was selected due to its strong cultural identity and deep-rooted theatre tradition. “The city has an engaged audience that appreciates performing arts with sincerity,” a member of the organising team said, highlighting the local community’s connection with theatre.

Platform for Youth

Alongside headline performances, the festival will also promote emerging talent. Each day will feature open stage sessions where young artists can present their work before the main play. This initiative aims to bridge generations within the theatre community.

Interactive Cultural Events

The festival will include CentreStage discussion sessions during the day, encouraging dialogue on theatre and performing arts. In addition, a brass band performance by students from Scindia School, Gwalior, will set the tone every evening, adding vibrancy to the event.

Cultural Impact Ahead

The IndieMoons Arts Festival 2026 is expected to strengthen Bhopal’s position as a key cultural hub in central India. With a mix of seasoned performers and young talent, the event is likely to draw theatre enthusiasts from across the region.

What Lies Ahead

As preparations continue, organisers are focusing on audience engagement and smooth execution. With a diverse programme and experienced performers, the festival is poised to become a significant entry in India’s cultural calendar and a notable highlight in Latest News Today and Trending News India segments.
