Cancer is a serious disease, which is spreading like an epidemic all over the world. Every year many people all over the world fall prey to this deadly disease and many people even lose their lives. It has many types, one of which is blood cancer. This is a serious type of cancer and hence Blood Cancer Awareness Month is celebrated every year in September with the aim of spreading awareness about it.

The purpose of celebrating this month is to make people aware about leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related disorders and to encourage people to detect it early. In such a situation, today in this article, Dr. Raman Narang, Senior Consultant of Medical Oncologist at Andromeda Cancer Hospital, Sonipat, will know about some such early symptoms of blood cancer, with the help of which you can detect this disease.

Sudden night sweats and fever
If you are sweating at night without any reason or have frequent fever, do not ignore it. This is a warning sign of both Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Sometimes such symptoms can also be seen in leukemia.

Unexplained weight loss and loss of appetite
If you have suddenly lost weight in a few weeks or months, then it is not normal at all. If you are losing weight without dieting, stress or workout or if your appetite has decreased, then this is part of the symptoms of lymphoma.

Easy bruising, nose bleeds or bleeding from gums
Due to low platelets due to leukemia, bruising or bleeding can occur easily and petechiae (small red dots) can occur. So do not ignore sudden bleeding, especially if it is new.

Frequent or unusual infections
Frequent infections, especially with fatigue and fever, may be a sign of low or malfunctioning white blood cells in leukemia.

Unexplained fatigue or shortness of breath
Fatigue without any reason, yellowing of the skin or shortness of breath without any effort or difficulty in breathing can also be a warning sign of blood cancer. In case of leukemia, there is often a problem in normal blood formation, which leads to anemia and such symptoms start appearing in the body.

Bone pain or persistent back pain
Multiple myeloma often causes bone pain, fractures or back pain that does not go away. If you are also feeling such pain in the body for a long time, do not make the mistake of ignoring it thinking it to be normal.

Itching without rash
It is usually normal to have itching, but sometimes this itching becomes severe. If you are also having such itching without rash, then it is a well-known symptom of Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and if this itching persists, then it is important to get it checked.
