Rishikesh, McLeod Ganj, Pondicherry, Coorg, and parts of Kerala rank high among solo travellers. These places offer good tourist infrastructure, women-friendly stays, and a sense of community. “Choosing well-reviewed homestays and travelling during daylight hours makes a big difference,” advises travel blogger Anjali Singh, who has explored over 20 Indian destinations alone.
Many women now share real-time safety tips on Instagram and dedicated Facebook groups. Improved public transport options and women-only coaches on some routes have also boosted confidence. The trend reflects a larger cultural shift where Indian women are claiming public spaces and travel experiences on their own terms.
