25 rescued after snowfall: Temperature in Lahaul-Spiti, Himachal Pradesh drops to -0.5°C

Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, snowfall has continued for the past 24 hours. The army rescued 25 tribals of the Bakarwal community trapped in a snowstorm in the upper areas of Doda district along with their livestock.
Meanwhile, the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, has resumed from today. The journey had been halted from 5th to 7th October due to bad weather. Pilgrims are happy that the pilgrimage has restarted after three days. Hundreds of devotees set out for darshan since morning.
In Himachal Pradesh, it snowed for the third consecutive day on Tuesday. The night temperature in Lahaul-Spiti dropped to -0.5°C. A landslide occurred on a private bus in Bilaspur district at night. The accident claimed the lives of 15 people. About 30 passengers were on the bus.
Returning monsoon rains continue in Bihar. Due to rainfall in Nepal as well, rivers here are in spate. Five districts are facing flood-like conditions. In Supaul, water has entered 5,000 houses. In Madhubani, a population of around 100,000 has been affected.
In Uttarakhand, Badrinath, Kedarnath, and Hemkund Sahib experienced their first snowfall on Tuesday. Hemkund Sahib received 2 to 3 inches of snow. In Kedarnath, the temperature dropped to 5°C. The second phase of the Char Dham Yatra is currently underway, with over 5,000 pilgrims arriving daily.
