Srinagar. A joint police conference was held on Friday by the army and police on the anti-terrorism operations being conducted in the province after the Pahalgam attack. In this press conference, police and army officials expressed their commitment to root out terrorism. It was told that, out of the list of 14 dreaded terrorists released after the Pahalgam terror attack, 6 terrorists have been killed so far. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from these terrorists. During the press conference, IGP Kashmir VK Birdi, while giving information about both the operations, said, 'In view of the increasing terrorist activities in the Kashmir Valley, all the security forces deployed here reviewed their strategies. After the review, in the last 48 hours we have carried out two very successful operations. These 2 operations were carried out in Keran and Tral areas, resulting in the killing of a total of 6 terrorists. The terrorists killed were changing areas and plotting attacks, but the security forces sensed their activities in time and foiled the plot of a major attack. Birdi said that we are committed to eliminating the terrorist ecosystem here. Let us tell you that on May 13, 3 Lashkar terrorists were killed in Shopian, while on Thursday, 3 Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists were killed in Tral. A cache of weapons has been found from these terrorists and the search for 8 terrorists is still on. Search operation is going on in search of these terrorists associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen and The Resistance Front. Let us tell you that Shahid Kutte, who was a top commander of Lashkar, was also among the terrorists killed in Shopian.
