There is an important information for those traveling by Delhi Metro. Delhi Metro has now become the first urban transport system in the country to join the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) and decide to provide ticket booking facility to passengers through more than 10 popular mobile apps. This change has been made under the new digital initiative launched by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on 15 May. According to DMRC, this integration will prove to be extremely beneficial for the convenience of about 65 lakh daily passengers and will simplify the journey. Passengers will no longer need to download any new app. They will be able to book tickets for their metro journey through many popular apps like EaseMyTrip, Google Maps, Nammayatri, Rapido and RedBus. DMRC has informed that this system has been implemented through a single-point connection developed by SequelString AI (SAI). Under this system, passengers will get an opportunity to avail various services from a single platform. For example, metro tickets will be available through travel planning apps, travel portals and Telegram bots.
The major advantage of this new digital network is that passengers will now be able to easily book tickets as per their requirements through a single app. This will be extremely beneficial especially for those passengers who travel both inter-city and local. For example, passengers travelling from Jaipur to Delhi can now book bus and metro tickets together on the redBus app, making their journey more convenient.
