NIA Scores Major Success: 2 ISIS Sleeper Cell Members Arrested at Mumbai Airport

In a significant breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two suspected ISIS sleeper cell operatives at Mumbai airport. The suspects were reportedly planning a terror-related activity and were under surveillance for weeks. The operation marks a major step in India’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.

On the other hand, a strict watch is also being kept on those coming from foreign countries. Under this, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two fugitive accused, who are members of the sleeper module of the banned terrorist organization ISIS.

They were trying to come to India from Indonesia

Both were stopped by the Immigration Bureau at Mumbai International Airport (Terminal-2) when they were trying to return to India from Jakarta, Indonesia, where they were hiding for a long time. After this, the NIA took them into custody and arrested them. Both the accused were absconding for the last two years and non-bailable warrants were issued against them by the NIA Special Court, Mumbai. The NIA had also announced a reward of Rs 3 lakh to the person giving information about both.
