7 Years After Accident, ₹13 Lakh Compensation Granted

Thane tribunal awarded ₹13 lakh compensation to a victim 7 years after the accident, delivering long-awaited justice.
A 29-year-old youth living in Thane, Maharashtra was a victim of a major accident in 2018. He suffered several serious injuries in this accident. At the same time, 7 years after the incident, the tribunal has ordered to give him compensation of Rs 13.5 lakh.
The Motor Accident Claim Tribunal (MACT) said in its decision that the accident was caused by a speeding vehicle. MACT, headed by R.V. Mohit, had issued the order on 2 July 2025, a copy of which will be issued today i.e. on Monday.
The accident took place on 15 January 2018 in Thane, Maharashtra. The victim Pappu Balu Ghagas was going from Murbad to Padgha in his car, when a speeding vehicle hit Pappu's car while driving on the wrong side of the road.
He had serious head injuries
The collision was so severe that Pappu fell into a nearby drain along with the car. During this, Pappu suffered many serious injuries. Pappu suffered many fractures on his body and also suffered serious head injuries, due to which he went into shock. In such a situation, the court has ordered to give compensation of Rs 13.50 lakh to Pappu.
