Monsoon has entered more than half of the country. Monsoon winds have reached Bihar. Monsoon is going to knock in eastern Uttar Pradesh within the next few hours. At the same time, due to the advancement of monsoon towards North India, a drop in temperature has been seen. Heavy rains occurred in Delhi NCR and surrounding areas yesterday, due to which people have started getting relief from the heat.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon has entered Gujarat, southern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and eastern Bihar by June 17, 2025. In the next 2-3 days, monsoon is expected to reach entire Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and most parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Where will the monsoon clouds rain?
According to the Meteorological Department, favorable conditions remain in North India for the monsoon to advance for the next two days. Monsoon may soon knock in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Currently, monsoon winds are passing through Deesa, Panchmarhi, Indore, Ambikapur, Hazaribagh, Mandla and Supaul. Monsoon rains are being seen in some parts of South India, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar.
Red alert issued in 5 states
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for rain in Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Jharkhand. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains with thunderstorms, lightning and thunderstorms in these states.
Orange alert issued in 14 states
An orange alert for rain has been issued in the coastal areas of Karnataka, Konkan coast of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura and Meghalaya. There is a possibility of heavy rains with thunder and lightning at these places.
