Army Couple’s Miracle Baby through IVF
Digital Desk
For an army officer and his wife from Jaipur, the journey to parenthood was nothing less than a battle. For five years, they tried every possible treatment, multiple IUIs and IVF cycles at different centres, but none brought success. With each failed attempt, the struggle became harder, but their determination to build a family never faded.
But infertility brought a different kind of emotional battle, one they felt unprepared for. “Every failure felt like a defeat,” the wife recalls. “We were trained to fight wars, but this war at home broke us inside.”
Their journey with Prime IVF Centre
Their turning point came when they learned about Prime IVF Centre and its head, Dr. Nishi Singh Tomar, who comes from an Army background herself. The couple immediately felt a connection, knowing she understood the unique challenges faced by army families. Prime IVF Centre also offers special support and discounts for armed forces personnel, which makes them feel even more welcome.
At Prime IVF, the team reopened the couple’s case history instead of repeating a standard protocol, said Dr. Tomar, who comes from an Army family background and is familiar with the constraints of postings and leave schedules. A targeted re-evaluation included ovarian reserve testing (AMH and antral follicle count), thyroid and prolactin levels, vitamin D and HbA1c levels, a high-resolution transvaginal ultrasound, and a diagnostic hysteroscopy to check for subtle uterine issues, such as polyps or adhesions. While prior semen analyses were within acceptable ranges, the clinic added sperm DNA fragmentation testing, which can, in selected cases, help explain inconsistent embryo development or implantation failure.
“Repeated failure isn’t fate; it’s a message,” Dr. Nishi said. “Once you identify whether the weaker link is egg, sperm, embryo, endometrium, or timing, you can plan for this couple, not the average couple.”
The day hope returned
And then came the miracle. In their very first IVF cycle at Prime, they received the news they had waited years for—a confirmed pregnancy. The officer remembers the moment vividly: “For us, it felt like winning the most important battle of our lives.” Nine months later, they welcomed their daughter, their “miracle gift.” Today, they lovingly call her their “Little Soldier”, a symbol of resilience, courage, and victory.
Their story is a shining reminder that infertility is not a defeat, and with the right support, even the toughest battles can be won. As the officer proudly says, “In the army, we never give up, and neither should you.”
