ASAP: A New Student Platform for Alternative Politics, Logo Launched by Kejriwal

Aam Aadmi Party has launched a new version of its student wing with a fresh name and vision, aiming to give student politics a new dimension. On Tuesday, at the Constitution Club in Delhi, party convener Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the logo of ‘ASAP’ — the Association of Students for Alternative Politics. He stated that this platform would become a powerful symbol of alternative politics in the country.

Extending his best wishes to students, Kejriwal said that the aim of ASAP is not just to give a new direction to student politics, but also to connect the country with a new generation of aware, responsible, and revolutionary leaders. He remarked, “Mainstream politics over the past 75 years has deprived us of hospitals, medicines, education, jobs, and basic facilities. Now is the time to make alternative politics mainstream.”

A Hope for Educational Reform
On this occasion, senior party leader and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia stated that ASAP will not merely be an electoral student organization but will emerge as a national voice for educational reform. He shared that out of 50,000 colleges and universities across the country, student union elections are held in only 5%. ASAP aims to reach every college and university and transform student politics into a platform for national service.

Student Leadership Will Take Priority
Delhi state president Saurabh Bhardwaj said that ASAP will be student-led, with the organization’s operations, direction, and decisions determined by students themselves. The Aam Aadmi Party will only provide background support. He described the platform as one of patriotism and social awareness.

A Training Ground for Democracy and Social Awareness
National media head of the party, Anurag Dhanda, stated that ASAP will not be limited to contesting elections but will also educate students on democracy, social responsibility, and civic participation. He expressed confidence that the organization will help strengthen the democratic framework of the country.

Emphasis on the Power of Youth
Former Punjab minister Anmol Gagan Maan and MP Gurmeet Singh emphasized that youth are the driving force of change. Anmol said that revolutions don’t happen on social media; they require organized effort. Gurmeet Singh described ASAP as a “platform for uncompromising new politics” and said it offers youth a real opportunity to change the course of the nation.

A Campaign to Awaken Democratic Consciousness
Senior leader Awadh Ojha stated that ASAP will aim to make people realize that in a democracy, real power lies in the hands of the people. He called educational reform AAP’s greatest achievement and emphasized the vital role student organizations will play in taking it forward.
