Upset over India halting SCO membership, Azerbaijan hints at friendship with Pakistan.
Azerbaijan SCO Membership: The SCO Summit held in Tianjin, China has ended. The whole world's attention was on the trio of Modi-Jinping-Putin at this summit. This summit is considered to be the end of America's dominance in world politics. However, after the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting ended, diplomatic tussle has intensified. Muslim country Azerbaijan has alleged that India has stopped its full membership application. Azerbaijan claimed that India has taken this step against it due to its closeness to Pakistan.
This allegation has come to light at a time when Azerbaijan is considered to be Pakistan's closest ally. It has been seen standing with it on anti-India issues many times. However, no official response has been given by India on this claim so far.
In fact, Azerbaijan had participated in the SCO summit as a dialogue partner. Azerbaijani media News.az reported that China reiterated support in favor of this application, but India opposed it. The report described India's stance as against the Shanghai spirit and alleged that India's decision was linked to Azerbaijan's closeness to Pakistan.
Pakistan took a big step
Meanwhile, Pakistan has also intensified its diplomatic steps. Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar recently held talks with Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and the two countries agreed to establish mutual diplomatic relations. This step has been taken at a time when a peace agreement has recently been reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia under the mediation of the US.
Pakistan trying to improve relations with Armenia
It is worth noting that Pakistan has been opposing Armenia for a long time and has stood in support of Azerbaijan. At the same time, now Pakistan is trying to improve relations with Armenia. Azerbaijani media claims that this initiative has been taken only after talks with their country.
