BJP appoints election in-charges for 3 states: Bengal, Bihar and Tamil Nadu

On Thursday, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the appointment of election in-charges and co-in-charges for upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu.

The list are Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan of Bihar has been made election in-charge. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil will serve as co-in-charges.

In West Bengal, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav has been appointed as in-charge, with former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb named co-in-charge.

For Tamil Nadu, BJP MP Baijayant Panda has been made election in-charge, while Muralidhara Mohol will serve as co-in-charge.

Assembly elections in Bihar are scheduled for October–November this year, where the BJP is currently in coalition with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U).

Polls in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu will be held between March and May 2026, with Mamata Banerjee’s TMC and the DMK in power in the two states respectively.
