British PM Starmer meets Modi: PM Modi will also

On the final day of his two-day official visit to India, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 10:00 AM for high-level bilateral discussions aimed at expediting the long-pending Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries.

The meeting will also cover major areas of collaboration such as trade, security, technology, and education, as both leaders reiterate their commitment to enhancing the India-UK partnership under the joint “Vision 2030” roadmap.

After their talks at Hyderabad House, Prime Ministers Modi and Starmer will head to the Jio World Centre in Mumbai to participate in the Global Fintech Fest 2025 — the world’s largest fintech conference. The event convenes leading fintech firms, global policymakers, banking leaders, and technology innovators.

At the summit, the two leaders are expected to discuss the future of digital payments, financial technology, and innovation, highlighting their shared goal of fostering stronger economic cooperation and driving digital transformation.

India and UK Signed FTA in July

India and the United Kingdom signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in July this year, with the goal of doubling bilateral trade to $120 billion by 2030.

The FTA is expected to facilitate easier access for Indian exports such as textiles, leather goods, and agricultural products to the UK market. Prime Minister Starmer’s visit is seen as a significant step toward strengthening and advancing commercial ties between the two nations.
