Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal Releases Autobiography of Prominent Accounting Professor Prem Lal Joshi in Dehradun

The autobiography of Prof. Prem Lal Joshi, a prominent accounting professor, was released at a function in Dehradun on Friday, 21 February 2026, in the presence of academicians, social leaders and dignitaries.
The book, titled From Garhwal to Global: Balancing the Ledger of Life – The Academic and Personal Journey of Professor Prem Lal Joshi, was released by Hon’ble Subodh Uniyal, Minister for Forest and Technical Education, Government of Uttarakhand, who attended the function as the Chief Guest at an event organised by ISRHE Charitable Trust. The book has been published by Delhi-based Universal Academic Book Publisher and Distributors. The ceremony was held at Ujjwal Bhawan, Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd., and was organised by the Institute for Social Reforms and Higher Education Charitable Trust (ISRHE), an institution committed to recognising excellence and promoting social and educational advancement, which also hosted an award function.
The book traces Prof. Joshi’s journey from a modest Garhwal neighbourhood to shaping accounting thought across continents. It highlights his four decades of teaching in India, Malaysia, Kenya, Turkey and Bahrain, over 155 refereed journal publications, his leadership as Founder and Editor-in-Chief of four journals and his mentorship of generations of students. Beyond these academic achievements, the autobiography tells the story of a man who chose scholarship and public service over material success, making it a testament to both character and career.
Prof. Joshi’s autobiography, From Garhwal to Global, is a highly inspiring work that traces his remarkable journey from humble beginnings to international academic recognition. The book conveys powerful messages to youth and young researchers on how dedication, perseverance and a clear vision can help them shape their careers and reach global heights.

The event also witnessed the conferment of the Bharat Shree Rashtriya Ratna Puraskar 2026 along with several other accolades recognising exemplary contributions in the fields of education, social service and leadership. Prof. Joshi was among the awardees honoured on the occasion.
Hon’ble Savita Kapoor, MLA from Dehradun Cantonment, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Among the distinguished guests present were Sandeep Singhal, Ajay Kumar Singh and Suresh Chandra Baluni of UJVN. The programme was organised under the leadership of Narendra Singh, N.K. Yadav, Er. H.K. Upreti, Dr. Prashant Agrawal, Dr. Atul Sharma, President of ISRHE and Dr. Reshu Gupta, Secretary of ISRHE.
Prof. Joshi expresses deep gratitude to his wife, Lila Joshi and their three children for their unwavering support and encouragement in helping him achieve significant milestones in the field of education. He also extends heartfelt thanks to the organisers at ISRHE for giving him this honour and opportunity.
