"COVID Resurges: Cases Spike in Ahmedabad, Maharashtra, Kerala; Advisory Issued in Delhi"

The fear of COVID-19 returns as 20 new cases are reported in Ahmedabad, with a rapid rise in infections in Maharashtra and Kerala. Delhi has issued an advisory in light of the situation. Across the country, the total active cases have surged to 312, prompting renewed vigilance and safety measures.

Corona cases are increasing continuously in the country. On Friday, 20 cases were confirmed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, 4 in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Haryana and a 9-month-old child in Bengaluru. Thus, there are a total of 312 active corona cases in the country, while two people have died.

The Delhi government has issued a new advisory in relation to COVID-19. All hospitals have been instructed to ensure adequate arrangements for beds, oxygen, medicines and vaccines. Apart from this, it is mandatory to send every positive COVID sample to Lok Nayak Hospital for genome sequencing. All health institutions will have to upload their reports on the Delhi Health Data Portal on a daily basis. This advisory has been issued at a time when corona cases are increasing in countries like Pakistan, China, Thailand and Singapore.

A total of 40 corona cases have been reported in Gujarat so far, of which 33 are active. According to Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh, 23 cases have been registered in the capital till Thursday. 4 new patients have been found in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, of which three have been kept in isolation and one is hospitalized. In Haryana too, 5 patients have been identified in the last 48 hours, including 2 women, and all of them have no international travel history. On Friday, 20 new cases were reported in Ahmedabad in a single day, taking the total number of cases registered in May to 40. Of these, 33 are active, while a 20-year-old girl has been admitted to Sola Civil Hospital, while all other patients are in home isolation.

A total of 29 corona cases have been reported in Ahmedabad, with the highest number of cases reported from Thaltej, Bodakdev, Ghatlodia, Gota and Chandlodia areas. On Friday, two new cases were registered in Surat and Kadi, while on Thursday one case each was confirmed in Rajkot and Kadi.

5 cases in Haryana, two women, an elderly and two youths infected

5 new cases of corona have been reported in Haryana in the last 48 hours. Of these, a young man and a young woman have recently returned from Mumbai, while the other patients have no travel history. The health department has advised citizens to be cautious.

Maharashtra becomes the biggest hotspot

Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, has become the major center of corona cases. 132 cases have been reported here since January 2025. According to a study, flu-like symptoms are being seen in many families, but people are hesitant to get tested.

Situation serious in Kerala, new cases found across the country

So far 182 patients have been confirmed in Kerala, while one new case has also been reported in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. It is clear from these figures that the corona virus has started spreading slowly again across the country.

Corona's new JN.1 variant increased concern

This time Omicron's new variant JN.1 and its sub-variants LF7 and NB1.8 are being blamed for the infection. Officials say that no evidence has been found so far to show that these new variants are more dangerous or faster spreading than before. Nevertheless, they believe that this wave may affect individuals with weak immunity.
