The winners of the prestigious Devarshi Narad Journalism Awards 2026 were announced on April 30, 2026, by Vishva Samvad Kendra, Mumbai. Dr. Nishith K. Bhandarkar, Convenor of the Awards Committee, officially declared the names of this year’s recipients, recognising excellence and integrity in journalism.
In the Senior Journalist category, Rakesh Trivedi of Times Now Navbharat has been named among the top honourees, alongside Milind Ballal (Thane Vaibhav), Jitendra Dixit (NDTV), and Dr. Mayur Parikh. The selection highlights their consistent contribution to credible, responsible, and impactful journalism.
The Lifetime Achievement Award this year will be conferred upon veteran journalist Ganesh (Bhau) Torsekar, acknowledging his enduring contribution and legacy in the field of journalism.
Dr. Bhandarkar noted that the Devarshi Narad Journalism Awards have entered their 26th year and are presented on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Adya journalist Devarshi Narad. The awards aim to honour journalists and institutions that uphold a balanced approach towards national and societal interests while maintaining fairness and responsibility in reporting.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 9 in Mumbai and will be attended by distinguished personalities from various fields.
