DGCA Acts Against Air India, Removes 3 Officers
New Delhi
In a major move, the DGCA has ordered the removal of three senior Air India officers over serious lapses. The aviation watchdog has sought a detailed report within 10 days regarding the incident.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken a big action on Air India and directed the removal of three officers responsible for operational deficiencies from all roles and responsibilities related to crew scheduling and rostering.
The DGCA has also directed to take internal disciplinary action against these officers without delay and said that the result of such action will be reported within 10 days.
The DGCA has issued a show cause notice to the responsible manager of Air India, stating that during the spot investigation it was found that the responsible manager of Air India operated two flights from Bengaluru to London (AI133) on 16 May 2025 and 17 May 2025, both of which exceeded the scheduled flight time limit of 10 hours.
The DGCA has sought a reply from the official within seven days and asked why appropriate enforcement action should not be initiated for the violation.
