DTC Board Approves Interstate Bus Service, 100 Electric Buses for Delhi

In a major relief for commuters, the DTC board has approved interstate bus operations and the purchase of 100 electric buses, enhancing green mobility and regional connectivity for Delhiites.
DTC has started preparations for the start of interstate bus service. Under this, the process of purchasing buses will be started soon. There is a plan to purchase 200 buses for major cities around Delhi, but 100 buses will be purchased in the first phase.
The DTC board has given in-principle approval for the purchase of buses, and now soon the models of the buses will be discussed and approved in a meeting. This proposal was presented in the recently held board meeting. DTC is planning to include 100 CNG and 100 electric buses under the interstate bus service. According to this, CNG buses will be operated on long distance routes and electric buses on short distance routes.
In the DTC board meeting, the proposal to start the process of purchasing buses and to purchase 100 electric buses in the first phase has been approved. In the last meeting, a proposal was presented to purchase AC e-buses (Type-3) with standard floor. During this, it was discussed that new models of electric buses are available in the market, so the models of buses will be considered in the upcoming board meeting. The process will be started after getting approval from the board for the purchase of modern model buses.
Route survey in final stage
DTC officials have informed that the survey of routes for interstate bus service is in the final stage. Soon a list of routes will be prepared, which will be presented in the upcoming board meeting. This list will be made public only after getting the approval of the board. Officials say that efforts are being made to operate DTC buses to the cities of neighboring states.
