Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi visited Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Here he reached the areas affected by the firing from Pakistan and met the families of the deceased and consoled them. He also met school children, encouraged them and said that I love you very much. Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra was also present with him on this occasion.
Rahul reached a school in Poonch and talked to the students affected by the shelling of the Pakistani Army here. He said, "You have seen danger and a slightly scary situation, but don't worry, everything will be normal. Your way of dealing with this problem should be to study hard, play hard and make lots of friends in school.
Rahul Gandhi's second visit
Let us tell you that this is Rahul's second visit after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April. Earlier, he had reached Srinagar on 25 April. Here he met CM Omar Abdullah, LG Manoj Sinha and the injured. On the afternoon of 22 April, terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam's Byasaran Valley. 26 tourists were killed in the attack. More than 10 were injured.
It is worth noting that after India launched 'Operation Sindoor' on 7 May, the Pakistan Army fired heavily from across the border and also carried out drone and missile attacks. This caused a lot of damage to the area. 28 people were killed in these attacks, out of which 13 were from Poonch alone. More than 70 people were injured in the attacks To escape the attacks, thousands of people had to flee from the Line of Control (LoC) areas and take shelter in government relief camps.
