Giriraj Singh: PM Modi Cleanses Congress's 'Sins' with Caste Census Approval
Union Minister Giriraj Singh asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has rectified the "sins" committed by the Congress towards the poor and backward classes by approving a national caste census.
The Modi government at the Center has decided that it will conduct caste census in the country. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave information about this after the cabinet meeting held yesterday (Wednesday, April 30). He said that caste census has not been done since 1947. Congress conducted caste survey instead of caste census. There is a race among the leaders in Bihar to take credit on the cabinet's decision. Meanwhile, BJP leader Giriraj Singh's reaction has also come to the fore.
Talking to news agency ANI today on Thursday (May 1), he said that Prime Minister Modi's principle of Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas, social harmony, he worked to bring it on the ground. PM Modi has taken many big decisions for social harmony during his 10-year tenure.
Giriraj Singh further said that, the sin that Congress had committed against the poor during its tenure, PM Modi has washed away that sin by approving the caste census. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was already a supporter of this (on including caste based census in the national census). But only the Center has the right to conduct the census. Therefore, PM Modi justified Nitish Kumar's demand by taking this decision.
Opposition leaders are calling it their victory
Let us tell you that assembly elections are to be held in Bihar this year. The decision of the Modi government to conduct the caste census before the elections is being called a master stroke of the BJP. At the same time, all the opposition leaders including Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, Pashupati Paras and Mukesh Sahni are also competing to take credit for this and are not tired of calling it their victory.
