Says escalating Israel–US–Iran conflict could trigger global catastrophe; offers to personally mediate and urges world leaders to “give peace a chance.”
International Peace Maker and founder of the Global Peace Initiative, Dr. K. A. Paul, on Sunday issued an urgent appeal for peace during a press conference at Andhra Bhawan, warning that escalating hostilities involving Israel, the United States, and Iran could spiral into a wider global war.
Addressing the media, Dr. Paul said he rushed to hold the press meet despite it being a Sunday, citing the seriousness of the situation. “What I have warned about repeatedly is unfolding before our eyes. This could become World War III if not stopped immediately,” he said.
Dr. Paul revealed that on February 5 he was in Washington, D.C., where he met senior U.S. leaders, including the speaker of the House respected Mike Johnson a man of peace along with several senators and members of Congress, to advocate for urgent diplomatic engagement. He stated that he remains in active communication with international leadership and is mediating between the concerned nations.
“I was hosted as State guest in both Israel and Iran leadership and negotiated peace without injustice to anyone. Again I am asking Give peace a chance,” he said, appealing directly to President Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the Iranian leadership to immediately halt attacks and begin dialogue. I warned Iran several times recently to free Iranians leaders and students from prison and stop killing protesters but they did not listen and also warned President Trump is a different type leader not like the past U. S. Presidents but they did not heed my call.
Three Urgent Appeals:
Dr. Paul outlined three immediate steps to prevent further escalation:
1. Immediate ceasefire and cessation of all military attacks.
2. Non-involvement of additional global powers, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with leaders of China, Russia, and North Korea, to refrain from actions that could widen the conflict.
3. Global mobilisation for peace, calling upon people of all faiths across 200 countries to pray and advocate for diplomatic resolution.
He cautioned that failure to act swiftly could result in economic collapse and mass casualties on an unprecedented scale.
Referring to his past interventions in international conflicts, including diplomatic engagements during crises in Yugoslavia and Libya and successfully stopped 7 major wars and nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by all those countries. Dr . Paul said the present situation is “far more dangerous” due to the involvement of multiple global powers.
He urged the media to prioritise peace-driven narratives saying, “The world cannot afford another global war. This is the moment to choose dialogue over destruction.”
