Heavy Rains Lash Mumbai, Airlines Issue Advisory Amid Orange Alert

Torrential rains continue to disrupt life in Mumbai as the IMD issues an orange alert. Several airlines have released travel advisories, warning passengers of delays and urging caution.

Due to heavy rains in Mumbai, life has been disrupted. Waterlogging in some areas has led to several kilometer-long traffic jams. Severe waterlogging is being seen especially in low-lying areas. One of Mumbai's busiest subways, Andheri route, has been completely closed due to waterlogging.

Roads in Andheri have become ponds. Despite heavy waterlogging, people are forced to take the same route. Of course, the rains have worsened the situation in Mumbai, but there is no possibility of Mumbai residents getting relief from the rains yet.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Mumbai. During this time, heavy rains are expected in many areas of Mumbai and Raigad. At the same time, a yellow alert for heavy rain has also been issued in some areas of Mumbai including Thane and Palghar. According to IMD, rain havoc will continue in Mumbai and Konkan in the next 24 hours.

Warning to stay away from the sea
IMD has issued an advisory and warned people in Mumbai and its surrounding areas to stay away from the sea. Due to bad weather and strong winds, the sea waves are also rising. Tidal conditions have developed in the coastal areas near Mumbai. The sea waves have reached 3.88 meters.

Indigo issued advisory
In view of the bad weather in Mumbai, airlines like Indigo and SpiceJet have also issued advisories.
