Indian Army Gears Up Against Drone Threats from Pakistan
New Delhi
The Indian Army has initiated strategic preparations to counter rising drone threats, particularly from Pakistan. Advanced testing and deployment of anti-drone technologies are underway to strengthen border security and neutralize aerial intrusions.
The Indian Army is conducting tests to find a solution to deal with drone attacks. Drones were used extensively by Islamabad after 'Operation Sindoor' launched against terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Former Principal Advisor to the Ministry of Defense Lieutenant General VG Khandare (retired) said in a dialogue session at the India Space Congress, the armed forces are already conducting tests to deal with drone attacks. India had foiled several drone attacks by Pakistan using its indigenously built Akashteer air defense system.
Retired Lieutenant General Khandare said that during Operation Sindoor, neither the Army nor the Air Force pilots crossed the border, but they still destroyed terrorist bases inside Pakistan.
Importance of deployment of troops on the ground front
However, he said that the emerging use of technology in warfare does not reduce the importance of deployment of troops on the ground front. You can attack someone, but the soldiers on the ground will determine who owns that particular area.
