North India faces extreme weather conditions as Rajasthan records a scorching 47°C, Punjab remains under a yellow heatwave alert, and Delhi and Uttar Pradesh experience thunderstorms and rain, offering brief respite from the heat.

According to the Meteorological Department, seasonal activities will also be seen in North India and Northeast during the next 24 hours. IMD says that there is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain in Delhi-NCR till Sunday. However, today there will be bright sunshine in Delhi NCR. Apart from UP, Bihar and Rajasthan, a warning of hailstorm along with rain has been issued in other states.

A sudden change in weather on Wednesday night in Delhi NCR, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh caused havoc. Heavy rain along with severe storm disrupted life. Hundreds of trees and electric poles collapsed. Walls of kutcha houses collapsed. Tin sheds flew away and roads were completely blocked at many places.

Possibility of rain in these states
Apart from UP, Bihar and Rajasthan, warning of hailstorm along with rain has been issued in other states. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka.
