Janata Party Chief Navneet Chaturvedi Meets Rajasthan Governor, Pushes for Swift Resolution of Mewar University Students’ Issues
Jagran Desk
Navneet Chaturvedi, National President of the Janata Party, met Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde at Raj Bhavan yesterday to raise pressing concerns faced by students of Mewar University.
Chaturvedi sought urgent intervention to address multiple challenges impacting the academic and professional futures of these students.
In a detailed memorandum submitted during the meeting, Chaturvedi highlighted that nearly twenty Mewar University students, who have secured placements in foreign companies, are unable to complete their hiring procedures due to delays in the attestation of their mark sheets by the Higher Education Department. These prolonged delays threaten to derail their overseas employment opportunities.
Additionally, the Janata Party leader pointed out that around twenty-four international students, who returned home after graduating, are encountering difficulties because their degrees lack certification from the state education authority. This gap not only hinders their career prospects abroad but also casts a shadow on the reputation of India’s higher education credentials.
Chaturvedi also raised serious concerns about the financial hardships faced by students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. He noted that scholarships for hundreds of these students have been stalled for months, jeopardizing their ability to continue their education and forcing some to drop out. He emphasized that such delays contradict the ideals of equitable education access and called for immediate government action.
During the discussions, Chaturvedi urged the Governor to instruct the Higher Education Department to expedite solutions. He warned that the ongoing neglect could result in significant emotional, financial, and social strain on students and their families.
Governor Haribhau Bagde responded attentively and assured that safeguarding students’ interests remains a top priority. He promptly directed the Higher Education Secretary to take swift corrective measures.
Concluding the meeting, Navneet Chaturvedi expressed gratitude and confidence in the government’s commitment to resolving the issues. He reiterated the Janata Party’s dedication to championing students’ causes and indicated that further agitation could be pursued if necessary.
