Ketan Agrawal Murder Case: Police Probe Reveals Siya Goyal’s Google Searches

Investigators say digital evidence in the Ketan Agrawal murder case includes searches related to the Raja Raghuvanshi case and police custody, adding a new dimension to the ongoing investigation.

The investigation into the Ketan Agrawal murder case has uncovered fresh digital evidence that investigators believe could strengthen the prosecution's case. According to Pune Police, the prime accused, Siya Goyal, allegedly searched online for details related to the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case before Ketan Agrawal's death. Officials also said her internet search history included queries about whether women are beaten while in police custody.

The findings emerged during the forensic examination of two mobile phones recovered from Siya Goyal as part of the investigation into the June 18 killing near Lohagad Fort in Pune district.

Mobile Data Examined

Police officials said a second mobile phone was recovered from Siya Goyal's residence during a recent search conducted in accordance with legal procedures. Investigators claimed that both devices contained internet searches that are now being analysed alongside other digital evidence.

According to officials, forensic experts are examining browsing history, communication records and other electronic data to establish the sequence of events leading up to the alleged murder. Authorities have not disclosed whether additional digital evidence has been recovered.

Investigation Gains Momentum

The case has also progressed through witness statements collected during the investigation. Police said eyewitness accounts have corroborated parts of the prosecution's timeline and helped investigators reconstruct the movements of the accused on the day of the incident.

Siya Goyal and co-accused Chetan Chaudhary were produced before Pune's Wadgaon Court, which remanded both to judicial custody. They remain lodged in Yerawada Central Jail while the investigation continues.

Police Outline Timeline

According to investigators, the alleged conspiracy developed over several weeks before the incident.

Police claim the accused initially visited Lohagad Fort earlier in June, where an alleged attempt to harm Ketan Agrawal failed. Investigators allege that on June 18, Siya Goyal persuaded Ketan Agrawal to revisit the fort under the pretext of a pre-wedding photoshoot. Police further allege that Chetan Chaudhary followed them separately and that both accused pushed Ketan into a nearly 400-foot gorge, resulting in his death.

These allegations remain part of the police investigation and will be tested during trial.

Behaviour After Incident

Investigators also alleged that Siya Goyal visited the victim's family a day after the incident and attempted to console them. Police claimed she told Ketan Agrawal's father to "stay strong" while allegedly concealing her involvement.

Officials further stated that both accused continued with their routine activities for several days after the incident and allegedly communicated using coded language through multiple phone numbers linked to the same mobile device.

Separately, a viral video showing Siya Goyal making a hand gesture while in police custody drew public attention. Her father denied allegations that she made an obscene gesture, claiming she was displaying injuries sustained when a vehicle door accidentally shut on her fingers.

Link To Earlier Case

Investigators said Siya Goyal's internet searches included references to the widely reported Raja Raghuvanshi murder case, which was investigated in Meghalaya last year. Police believe the searches could indicate an attempt to study another high-profile criminal investigation.

However, officials have not alleged any direct connection between the two cases beyond the online searches. Legal experts note that the evidentiary value of search history will ultimately be determined by the court alongside other forensic and testimonial evidence.

The Ketan Agrawal murder case remains under active investigation, with police continuing to analyse electronic evidence, witness testimonies and forensic findings. The accused have not been convicted, and all allegations remain subject to judicial scrutiny during the trial.
