Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle: 66 IAS and IPS Officers Transferred Across Delhi and Union Territories
In a significant administrative overhaul, the Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred 66 IAS and IPS officers across Delhi and various Union Territories. This marks the first major reshuffle since the BJP's return to power in Delhi after 27 years.
After the formation of the BJP government in Delhi, the Union Home Ministry has made an important administrative reshuffle in the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre on May 16. Under this change, the Home Ministry has transferred several senior officers of the Delhi government, including Additional Chief Secretary and a Chief Secretary, to other states and union territories.
Ashish Chandra Verma, a 1994 batch IAS officer from the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Finance and Revenue departments of the Delhi government, has been transferred to Jammu and Kashmir.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Environment and Forests Anil Kumar Singh has been sent to Jammu and Kashmir, while Principal Secretary of the Vigilance Department Sudhir Kumar has been given the responsibility of Mizoram. Anil Kumar Singh is a 1995 batch officer, while Sudhir Kumar is a 1999 batch officer.
Special Secretary Home K M Uppu (2009 batch) has been transferred to Puducherry and Special Secretary Transport (2008 batch) to Andaman and Nicobar. Meanwhile, 2005 batch officer Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, who served as divisional commissioner in Kashmir, has been sent to Delhi. Meanwhile, 2000 batch officer Dilraj Kaur will return to the national capital after her transfer from Andaman and Nicobar, where she had previously served in various posts.
Other IAS officers of AGMUT cadre transferred from Delhi include Chanchal Yadav and Vinod Kavle of 2008 batch, and Naveen S L of 2012 batch. Apart from this, Arun Kumar Mishra of 2012 batch has been transferred from Goa to Delhi.
The AGMUT cadre IAS officers transferred to Delhi include 2012 batch's Krishna Kumar Singh and A Nedunchezhiyan, 2009 batch's Ramesh Verma, and 2004 batch's Pandurang K Pole. A total of 40 IAS and 26 IPS officers have been transferred in this reshuffle done by the Home Ministry.
An order issued by the Services Department states that 1993 batch officer Prashant Goyal, who was earlier ACS-cum-Commissioner Transport, will now work as Additional Chief Secretary of Urban Development. At the same time, 1994 batch officer Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, who was ACS of Irrigation and Flood Control and General Administration departments, has now been appointed as the new ACS of Public Works Department. Apart from this, 1996 batch's A Ambarasu has been made Principal Secretary of Home Department and has also been appointed as the new Principal Secretary of Services Department.
Nikhil Kumar appointed Health Secretary
Nikhil Kumar, a 2002 batch officer, has been appointed as Health Secretary and has also been given additional charge of IT Secretary. Neeraj Semwal of 2003 batch has been given the responsibility of Secretary Revenue-cum-Divisional Commissioner. Niharika Rai of 2008 batch, who was earlier the Secretary of the Finance Department, will now serve as Secretary-cum-Transport Commissioner. Apart from this, Ravi Jha, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister of 2011 batch, has been appointed as the Excise Commissioner of the Delhi Government.
