Major Political Buzz in Maharashtra: Raj Thackeray Visits Uddhav at Matoshree After 6 Years

In a surprise political development, Raj Thackeray visited Matoshree to meet his cousin Uddhav Thackeray on his birthday — their first meeting in six years, sparking fresh political speculation in Maharashtra.

After coming together with brother Uddhav Thackeray on the issue of Marathi identity in Maharashtra, now Raj Thackeray has surprised again. MNS chief Raj Thackeray reached Matoshree on Uddhav Thackeray's birthday. Raj Thackeray wished brother Uddhav Thackeray on his birthday. After this, Raj Thackeray shared a picture on X. It was written that on the birthday of my elder brother, Shiv Sena chief Shri Uddhav Thackeray, I went to Matoshree, the residence of Balasaheb Thackeray and wished him. All the big leaders of the party were present on this occasion. Raj Thackeray has addressed Uddhav Thackeray as Shiv Sena chief on his X account. It is worth noting that the party was split in two in 2022 after Eknath Shinde rebelled, but on Uddhav Thackeray's birthday, Raj Thackeray has written him as Shiv Sena chief.

Went to Matoshree after 6 years

Raj Thackeray went to Matoshree, the residence of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, after 6 years. Earlier, he had gone to Matoshree to give the wedding card and invitation to his son Amit Thackeray. Amit Thackeray got married on 27 January 2019. After coming on a stage in Worli on 5 July this month, there were speculations that an alliance between MNS and Shiv Sena UBT is difficult, but once again he has surprised everyone by going to Matoshree. Earlier, Raj Thackeray had gone to Matoshree when Bala Saheb Thackeray's health deteriorated. Politics has heated up in Maharashtra regarding the coming together of the two brothers before the local body elections. After the Hindi-Marathi dispute in Maharashtra, MNS has also opened a front against Gujarati. Local body elections in the state are expected to be held at the end of the year. Mumbai BMC elections are expected to be held in the third and last phase.
