Manish Tewari Backs Trump's Mediation on India-Pakistan Tensions

Congress leader Manish Tewari justifies former President Trump's intervention in India-Pakistan disputes, citing rising tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors and the role of the UNSC in maintaining global peace.

New Delhi. After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, a ceasefire was suddenly announced on May 10 at 5 pm amid the long tension and conflict between India and Pakistan. Mixed reactions are coming from across the country regarding this ceasefire. Some are calling it right and some are calling it wrong. Now Congress MP Manish Tewari's statement has also come out on this matter. He said that one thing is clear that if Pakistan now uses terrorism as its policy, then it will have to face the consequences. Along with this, the MP has justified America's intervention.

The Congress MP said that after the Pahalgam massacre, the Indian armed forces took revenge through Operation Sindoor. Now I think Pakistan and its rulers must have also understood that this cannot go on forever. Neither can they use nuclear blackmail every time nor terrorists. After India's action, it must be clear to the Pakistanis.

What did the Congress MP say on Trump's intervention?

Chandigarh Congress MP Manish Tewari said that the statement that has come from US President Donald Trump, whether you like it or not, is a factual statement. If you look at the India-Pakistan perspective from 1947 to 1972, whenever tensions rose between India and Pakistan, it was mainly over the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

'The world will not stand idly by and watch...'

There were UN Security Council resolutions that were the template for any conversation that took place between the two countries. The final conclusion is that when tensions rise between two de facto nuclear-armed countries, the rest of the world will not stand idly by and watch. Therefore, other countries of the world will obviously talk to the two countries when they are not talking to each other.
