Mann Ki Baat; 126th episode,PM Modi pays tribute to Bhagat Singh, Lata Mangeshkar

On Sunday in the 126th episode of his radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation beginning with tributes to freedom fighter Bhagat Singh and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio program, Mann Ki Baat, is broadcast in 22 Indian languages and 29 dialects.

This includes 11 foreign languages, including French, Chinese, Indonesian, Tibetan, Burmese, Baluchi, Arabic, Pashto, Persian, Dari, and Swahili.

The program is aired from over 500 All India Radio broadcasting centers across the country. While the first episode was just 14 minutes long, the duration was extended to 30 minutes in June 2015.

The Prime Minister is expected to appeal to citizens to prefer indigenous products during Dussehra and Diwali celebrations. Modi also highlighted inspiring stories of ordinary Indians, a regular feature of his monthly address.

He covered topics such as natural disasters, sports, innovation, education, and the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign in his previous episode.

He also shared that information about candidates who missed the UPSC final list is now available on the digital platform Pratibha Setu, helping them secure opportunities in major companies.

 On September 22, 2025 the new GST tax structure came into force, streamlining rates into just two slabs – 5% and 18%. The move has prompted many companies to reduce prices of goods and services across the country.

PM said when astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla landed on Earth, people jumped with joy. A wave of happiness ran through every heart. The whole country was filled with pride. This has awakened new curiosity about science and space among children. Now small children say that we will also go to space.

·         Yoga Day and Emergency:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about International Yoga Day on June 21, noting that millions from India and around the world took part in the event. He said that the practice of yoga is gaining momentum, with more people incorporating it into their daily lives. Later he added, people were persecuted during the Emergency period. Many people were subjected to severe torture. In the end, people won and the Emergency was lifted.
