Monsoon Set to Arrive in Delhi in 2–3 Days; Heavy Rain Alert for Purvanchal

Meteorological department confirms the monsoon will hit Delhi within the next 2–3 days. At the same time, a heavy rainfall warning has been issued for Purvanchal
The southwest monsoon, which has rapidly covered large parts of central, western and eastern India in the last two to three days, is expected to reach Delhi, Haryana and parts of Punjab in the next two to three days. Monsoon rains badly affected life in most parts of Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh. 12 people died in UP due to lightning. Due to bad weather, eight flights of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow were delayed.
According to IMD, between June 20 and 25, there is a possibility of rain in large parts of north-west India including Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Monsoon is likely to reach Delhi by June 22.
On Thursday, rain continued in many districts in eastern UP as well as the central region. Due to heavy rains, the soil under the track near Ugu Halt on Unnao-Balamau route caved in. Seeing the passenger train (54336) coming from a distance, the villagers signaled and the loco pilot applied the brakes. This train, which escaped the accident, left Unnao station for Balamau at around 3:30 pm. The employees of the engineering department worked for 42 minutes and repaired the track. After this the train left.
A warning of heavy rain has been issued in Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Deoria, Gorakhpur and surrounding districts of Purvanchal. During this time, the wind will also blow at a speed of 40-50 kilometers per hour.
Schools in Jharkhand closed for three days
Rain continued for the second consecutive day in most parts of Jharkhand. In view of heavy rains, schools up to class 12 have been closed for the next three days. Due to rain, 10 people died in different parts of the state, while more than half a dozen bridges and diversions were washed away. Many trains had to be cancelled due to waterlogging on the railway tracks in Jamshedpur and Chakradharpur. Flights to and from Ranchi were also disrupted.
