Partition Horror Memorial Day: CM Yogi accuses Congress of dividing the nation for power

On 'Partition Horror Memorial Day', Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath alleged that Congress broke the unity of Sanatan Bharat and divided the country in its greed for power. He said the partition caused immense suffering and remains a painful chapter in history.
While inaugurating the grand exhibition organized in Lucknow on the occasion of 'Partition Horror Memorial Day', Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a strong attack on the Congress. Terming the partition of 1947 as the dark chapter of the appeasement policy of the Congress, he said that this terrible tragedy hurt the country by breaking the unity of Sanatan Bharat. He said that today the whole country is mourning remembering the Partition Horror of 14 August 1947. Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought history to life by declaring this day as Memorial Day in 2021.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath observed the exhibition organized on the occasion of 'Partition Horror Memorial Day' and called upon the countrymen to learn a lesson from history. In the exhibition, the youth were made aware of the pain of that period and the price of appeasement through digital archive photos, newspaper clippings, government records and preserved material of displaced families related to the violence that arose after the partition.
Congress partitioned the country in greed for power - CM Yogi
The Chief Minister said that the revolutionaries embraced the noose of death for independence, but the Congress partitioned the country in greed for power. He alleged that the campaign to make areas like Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan of West Pakistan devoid of Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists was the result of Congress's policy. 15-20 lakh people lost their lives in this violence and crores were displaced. CM Yogi said that this was the culmination of atrocities, which was promoted by the Congress.
The government will provide proper rehabilitation to the families affected by the horror under CAA - CM
The CM also accused the Congress of indifference towards the displaced people. He said that the then government neither built memorials nor established museums for the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain and Christian communities who left their homes. Their suffering was forgotten. On the contrary, he praised PM Modi, who gave citizenship and rehabilitation rights to refugees through CAA. The CM said that for the first time refugees in Jammu and Kashmir and other areas got citizenship through CAA. These people are contributing to the development of India, but the Congress never made efforts for their rehabilitation. CM Yogi paid tribute to the victims and said that we salute their memories. CM Yogi announced that the Uttar Pradesh government will give land leases and proper rehabilitation to eligible families under CAA. He said that we are committed to protect and safeguard their interests.
