Digital Desk
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Gujarat on October 30 and 31, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for infrastructure and development projects worth over ₹1,140 crore in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia. These include the Birsa Munda Tribal University in Rajpipla, Vaman Vriksha Vatika, an E-Bus Charging Depot, and 25 Electric Buses. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India, a Sports Complex, Jetty Development near Shoolpaneshwar Ghat, and Travelators at the Statue of Unity, among other initiatives.
On October 30, PM Modi will arrive at Vadodara Airport at 4 PM, where he will be greeted by local leaders and citizens. After a brief halt, he is scheduled to travel to Kevadia by helicopter; however, if rainfall affects weather conditions, he may opt to travel by road instead.
Stay and security arrangements
The Prime Minister will stay overnight at the Circuit House in Kevadia, occupying the VVIP suite. Due to strict security protocols, the entire Circuit House has been vacated, and Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel have been stationed on-site.
Party delegation from Vadodara
Around 500 BJP leaders, MPs, MLAs, and corporators from Vadodara — including city BJP president Dr. Jayprakash Soni, MP Hemang Joshi, and other senior officials — will join the celebrations in Kevadia. Party councillors and office-bearers will travel by private luxury buses on October 30 to take part in the preparations and events.
National Unity Day celebrations
On October 31, Prime Minister Modi will attend the National Unity Day celebrations at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar. The highlight will be a grand parade, inspired by the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, featuring 16 contingents from the BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, SSB, and state police forces from across India, along with NCC units.
In a special tribute, 16 medal-winning BSF personnel from Operation Sindoor and five Shaurya Chakra awardees from the CRPF will participate in the parade in open jeeps. The procession will be led by a 100-member Heralding Team dressed in vibrant traditional attire and performing live music.
Adding to the patriotic fervor, nine school band contingents — including national and state-level winners from Gujarat — will perform during the parade.
Honouring Patel’s legacy
The National Unity Day event at the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, pays homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution to India’s unification after Independence. This year’s celebrations, led by Prime Minister Modi, will showcase India’s unity in diversity, bringing together security forces, students, and citizens from across the nation.
After the ceremony, PM Modi will return to Vadodara Airport on October 31 and depart for Delh
