Rajasthan School Building Collapse: 7 Children Dead, 28 Injured in Jhalawar Tragedy

In a tragic incident on Friday morning, a classroom at Peepalda Government School in Jhalawar district’s Manoharthana block collapsed, leaving 7 students dead and 28 others critically injured. Around 35 children were trapped under the debris when the building caved in. The injured are undergoing treatment at Jhalawar District Hospital.
Signs Ignored Before Collapse
Eyewitness accounts reveal that moments before the tragedy, pebbles and small debris started falling from the ceiling. Students reportedly alerted a teacher, but no action was taken. Locals and staff members later helped rescue the injured from the rubble.
Deaths and Injuries
According to hospital authorities, five children died on the spot, while two more succumbed to injuries later. The remaining injured students are in critical condition and receiving emergency medical care.

President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep condolences over the loss of young lives. Authorities have initiated an investigation into alleged staff negligence, as initial reports suggest warning signs were ignored.
