Rajnath Singh to Meet PM Modi as Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Again
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today amid rising tensions, as the Pakistan Army breaches the ceasefire agreement for the fourth time.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11 am. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Anil Chauhan will also be part of the meeting. The meeting comes a day after Singh discussed key decisions taken by the Army to counter Pakistan after the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam.
After the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistani troops started firing “unprovoked” along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the fourth consecutive time that Pakistan has violated the ceasefire.
The Indian Army said in a statement, “On the night of 27-28 April, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked firing of small arms along the Line of Control in opposite sectors of Kupwara and Poonch districts,” adding that they responded “swiftly and effectively”.
Let us tell you that on April 22, 25 tourists and a Kashmiri local citizen were shot dead in the Baisaran ground of Pahalgam. This was one of the most horrific terrorist attacks in the Kashmir Valley since the removal of Article 370.
