The grand Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Ram Darbar at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya has commenced today during the auspicious Abhijit Muhurat. On this sacred occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed a formal worship of Ram Darbar. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony is scheduled from 11:25 AM to 11:40 AM.
The Ram Darbar, installed on the first floor above the sanctum sanctorum of Ram Lalla, includes idols of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, his three brothers — Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughna — and Hanuman Ji. Renowned businessman Mukesh Patel from Surat has donated highly valuable diamond, gold, and silver ornaments for the temple.
Dinesh Newadia, National Treasurer of Vishva Hindu Parishad, stated that these jewels include a 1000-carat diamond, 30 kilograms of silver, and 300 grams of gold. From these ornaments, 11 crowns, necklaces, earrings, forehead tilak, and bows and arrows for the four brothers have been crafted. These ornaments were securely transported from Surat to Ayodhya via chartered plane and handed over to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Trust.
Earlier, on January 22, 2024, the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla had taken place. The statues of Ram Darbar on the temple’s first floor are carved from white marble from Jaipur and Makrana. The idols depict Lord Shri Ram and Mata Sita seated on the throne, with Bharat and Hanuman Ji sitting near their feet.
Around 350 esteemed guests, including saints, monks from across the country, and trust officials, were invited to today’s grand ceremony. The temple is decorated with colorful lights, and CM Yogi Adityanath is expected to stay in Ayodhya for about six hours. Along with Ram Darbar, consecration ceremonies will also take place for idols in seven other temples.
