SC Rejects Plea for FIR Against Justice Yashwant Varma Over Cash Discovery

The Supreme Court of India dismissed a petition seeking the registration of an FIR against Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma, citing an ongoing in-house inquiry and deeming the plea premature.

The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition to register an FIR against Justice Yashwant Verma, who was a judge of the Delhi High Court, and has rejected this petition. The petition was filed regarding the case of cash allegedly found from Justice Verma's official residence. However, the internal investigation panel has found him guilty in the initial investigation.

A bundle of notes was allegedly found from the house of Justice Yashwant Verma, who was a judge of the Delhi High Court, when the fire in the outhouse of his house was being extinguished.

Now the Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition to register an FIR against Justice Verma.

This petition was filed in the case of cash found from the official residence of the judge in Delhi. A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjwal Bhuyan said that in a press release issued by the apex court on May 8, it was stated that the CJI (Chief Justice of India) has sent the report of the internal inquiry committee along with the reply of the judge to the President and the Prime Minister.
