SC reprimands MP minister Vijay Shah for his apology; case now handed over to SIT
The Supreme Court criticized MP Minister Vijay Shah for his apology, calling it insincere. The case has now been transferred to a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for further inquiry.
The Supreme Court today heard the petition of Madhya Pradesh minister Vijay Shah, who made a controversial statement on Colonel Sofia. The Supreme Court reprimanded Madhya Pradesh minister Vijay Shah for his comment on Colonel Sofia Qureshi and said that he should think before making indecent remarks.
A two-member bench of Justice Suryakant is hearing the case. Senior advocate Maninder Singh appeared in the court on behalf of Vijay Shah.

The Supreme Court further said,
The Supreme Court directed the DGP of Madhya Pradesh to constitute an SIT under the chairmanship of an IG rank officer by 10 am on Tuesday.

Senior advocate Maninder Singh, on behalf of Vijay Shah, said, Vijay Shah is apologizing. On this, Justice Suryakant said, where is your apology?, What kind of apology do you want to make, sometimes false apologies are made and sometimes crocodile tears are shed. What is your nature in these.

The court further said, this is a country that believes in the rule of law. Be it small or big. Judges do not have prejudice against anyone. No one will be harmed by the orders of this court.
The whole country is ashamed of you. It is up to you how you improve yourself. We have not given any instructions. It is not correct to say that the High Court has convicted you.
