Security forces launch operation in Rajouri: Search continues for 4 terrorists after encounter

On the night of October 7, an encounter took place between terrorists and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. Several rounds of firing were exchanged from both sides. After this, the terrorists fled towards the jungle.
Since this encounter in Beeranthub, joint teams of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, and CRPF have been conducting a search operation here. After searching throughout Tuesday night, the search operation is still ongoing on Wednesday morning. There are reports of 4 terrorists hiding here.
Security forces are checking vehicles passing through the Rajouri-Kotranka-Budhal road. Meanwhile, since this morning, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) is conducting raids in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, and Ganderbal in connection with a terror funding case.
March 28
Earlier, on March 28, 2 terrorists were killed in an encounter in Kathua. While 4 jawans of the Special Operations Group (SOG), Tariq Ahmed, Jaswant Singh, Jagbir Singh, and Balwinder Singh, were martyred. Besides them, three jawans, including DSP Dheeraj Singh, were injured.
April 12
On April 12, JCO Kuldeep Chand of the 9 Punjab Regiment was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Akhnoor. The encounter had started the previous night in the Keri Battal area of Akhnoor.
April 22
On April 22, a terrorist attack took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorists had killed 26 tourists. Following this, on May 7, India carried out airstrikes on 9 terrorist hideouts in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan.
The army had killed 100 terrorists. A ceasefire agreement was reached between the two countries from 5 PM on May 10.
May 8
Jawan Lance Naik Dinesh Kumar was martyred in shelling by the Pakistani army on the LoC. This shelling occurred in Poonch, Tangdhar, and other border areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Martyr Dinesh Kumar was from the 5 Field Regiment.
July 28
Three Pakistani terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces on July 28 in the Harwan area near Dachigam National Park in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. According to media reports, Hashim Musa, the main accused in the Pahalgam attack, was also among them.
The army carried out this operation under Operation Mahadev. The other two terrorists were identified as Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Jibran was involved in the attack on the Sonamarg tunnel project in 2024.
American M4 carbine, AK-47, 17 rifles, and grenades were recovered from the terrorists. Some other suspicious items were also recovered.
August 13
On August 13, an Indian Army jawan was martyred in a firing incident in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir. This firing incident on the LoC took place near Churunda village, located on the Line of Control in the Uri sector.

· 2 terrorists killed in Gurez sector: In an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Gurez sector on August 26, two terrorists were killed. One of them was identified as Bagu Khan, who was known as 'Human GPS'. Security forces had been searching for him for decades as he was involved in more than 100 infiltration attempts since 1995.
· Longest operation conducted in Kulgam: From August 1 to 12, an operation named Operation Akhal was conducted in Kulgam, about 70 kilometers from Srinagar. A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was killed in it. He was identified as Haris Dar, a resident of Pulwama.
September 8
The army had killed 2 terrorists during an encounter in Kulgam, Kashmir. An encounter had taken place between terrorists and security forces in the forests of Guddar. The army had named it Operation Guddar. During this, two injured soldiers were also martyred.
One of the killed terrorists was identified as Aamir Ahmed Dar, a resident of Shopian. He was associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and had been active since September 2023. He was also included in the list of 14 terrorists released by security agencies after the Pahalgam attack.
A joint team of the Police, Army's 9RR, and CRPF had started searching the area after receiving information about the presence of terrorists.
