Tantric Held in Delhi Triple Murder Case; Victims Allegedly Poisoned With Drug-Laced Prasad

A chilling triple murder in West Delhi has led to the arrest of a self-styled tantric accused of poisoning three people with drug-laced sweets after luring them with promises of wealth rituals, police said.

According to Delhi Police, the suspect, identified as Kamruddin, was arrested on February 11 in connection with the deaths of two men and a woman whose bodies were found unconscious inside a locked car near Peeragarhi flyover in the Paschim Vihar area on February 8. Investigators allege he mixed Sulphas poison and sleeping pills into laddoos he gave the victims as “prasad,” causing them to lose consciousness and die.

Police said the accused had been in contact with the victims for nearly a year. CCTV footage placed him inside the car with them shortly before the incident, while call detail records and location data corroborated his presence. Authorities believe he fled after the victims collapsed, leaving them inside the vehicle.

The deceased were identified as 76-year-old Randhir, 47-year-old Shiv Naresh Singh, and 40-year-old Lakshmi Devi. They were residents of different parts of Delhi, including Jahangirpuri. Officers responding to a PCR call found the three unconscious; they were declared dead at a hospital. Liquor bottles, cash, and identity documents were recovered from the car, prompting suspicions of foul play.

Investigators say Kamruddin promised to conduct a special ritual that would “bring money” and demanded ₹2 lakh in cash along with alcohol and soft drinks as part of the ceremony. He allegedly avoided purchasing toxic substances himself and instead had others procure them under false pretenses, claiming they were needed for agricultural use.

Police sources said photographs of several individuals were recovered from his residence, which he allegedly used while claiming to perform occult practices such as mind-control rituals and black-magic remedies for business success and personal problems.

The suspect, originally from Firozabad, has a criminal history. Officials confirmed he was previously booked in murder cases registered in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Police are now tracing associates who may have helped procure the pills and are examining his contacts in nearby Ghaziabad, where the victims had traveled shortly before their deaths.

A fresh murder case has been registered, and investigators say more arrests are possible as they probe whether others were involved. Authorities are also verifying whether additional victims may have been targeted using similar methods.
