BJP Fires Back as Rahul Gandhi Alleges ‘Vote Theft’; Sharad Pawar Demands EC Probe
Politics
BJP leaders rejected Rahul Gandhi’s charges of “vote chori,” calling them baseless and misleading. Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar backed Gandhi’s concerns and urged the Election Commission to launch a detailed investigation into the alleged manipulation.
Sharad Pawar said that the BJP's response to Rahul Gandhi's questioning of the Election Commission's functioning on the issue of vote theft creates distrust among the public. He said that the Election Commission should have paid attention to the issues raised by Rahul Gandhi. Pawar also said that the response from BJP leaders instead of the Election Commission is increasing distrust towards the Commission.
Speaking to reporters in Pune, Sharad Pawar said that Rahul Gandhi has raised several important issues about the functioning of the Election Commission of India regarding alleged "vote theft." When Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition (in the Lok Sabha), raised this issue in Parliament, the Election Commission should have paid attention to it.
