7 Assembly Seats in Katihar: BJP’s Kavita Paswan Leads Kodha by 30,000 Votes

Counting for the Bihar Assembly elections 2025 began across the state today. In Katihar, the process started at 8 AM at the counting center set up in the Tigchhia Agricultural Produce Market Committee premises. Votes for Katihar, Kadwa, Balrampur, Pranpur, Manihari, Barari, and Kodha constituencies are being counted here.
Each assembly segment has 14 counting tables. The district administration has ensured robust arrangements for the process. Counting began at 8:00 AM, with initial trends expected from 9:00 AM. Postal ballots are being counted first.
Three-Layer Security at Counting Venue
Strict security measures have been implemented, including a three-layer cordon and barricading around the complex. Section 144 is in force. Special passes have been issued for counting personnel, officials, and media. Metal detectors are installed at entry points, and all entrants are being thoroughly checked.

A total of 87 candidates are contesting across these seven constituencies. The administration has deployed strict monitoring to prevent any disorder during counting.
Guidelines for Media and Public
No mobile phones or electronic devices are allowed inside the counting venue except for media personnel. District Magistrate Manesh Kumar Meena urged supporters to avoid crowding and watch results via TV news, warning that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting disruptive activities.
