ACB Summons Manish Sisodia Again in Delhi Classroom Scam

AAP leader Manish Sisodia's challenges deepen as the ACB issues a second summons in connection with the Delhi classroom scam, intensifying the investigation.

Former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been summoned for the second time by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) on Tuesday in the classroom scam case. This time he has been asked to appear on June 20. Earlier also he was sent summons, in which he was asked to appear on June 9. He had clearly refused to appear citing some personal reasons, after which now he has been sent this summons for the second time. Satyendra Jain has also been questioned in this case.

What is the whole matter

After getting approval from Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, ACB started investigation by registering an FIR. ACB registered an FIR against Manish Sisodia on April 30. This case is related to an alleged scam of about Rs 2000 crore. They are accused of irregularities in the construction of about 12,748 classrooms and buildings. According to the ACB, the cost of construction of classrooms was increased abnormally.

What are the allegations against Manish Sisodia

Along with this, the investigation also revealed that the classrooms were built as semi-permanent structures. Apart from this, the contractors who got the contract were associated with the 'AAP' party. The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) said that summons have been issued to Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain in connection with the alleged corruption of Rs 2,000 crore in the construction of 12,748 classrooms in government schools. An FIR was registered against both of them on April 30.

ACB is investigating

It is alleged that Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain misused their position and took advantage of it by arbitrarily increasing the cost and size of the classrooms. Both were accused of not following government rules. The cost of constructing the classroom was estimated to be Rs 24.86 lakh, while a similar construction in Delhi costs Rs 5 lakh.
