Rahul Gandhi Alleges 'Match-Fixing' in Bihar Polls, BJP Hits Back
Maharashtra
Rahul Gandhi claimed that after Maharashtra, election 'match-fixing' is now planned in Bihar, accusing the BJP of undermining democracy. The BJP swiftly responded, dismissing the allegations as baseless and politically motivated.
Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has once again raised questions about the Maharashtra Assembly elections held last year in 2024. Rahul has accused the BJP and said that the BJP rigged the elections like match fixing. He explained step by step how the results of the Maharashtra Assembly elections were rigged and the BJP was benefited. He named it 'How to steal elections?' BJP has retaliated to Rahul's allegations.
Rahul Gandhi wrote, "My article shows how it happened." Sharing five steps with his article, he wrote…
Step 1- Rigging the panel for appointment of Election Commission
Step 2- Adding fake voters to the voter list
Step 3- Increasing the voting percentage
Step 4- Target fake voting exactly where BJP has to win
Step 5- Hiding the evidence
Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP over the Maharashtra assembly elections and said, “It is not difficult to see why the BJP was so desperate in Maharashtra? But this rigging is like match fixing- the side that cheats may win the match, but damages the institutions.”
He said that such results destroy public trust. All concerned Indians should see the evidence and decide for themselves, demand answers. Because the match fixing of Maharashtra will happen next time in Bihar and then where the BJP will be losing.
Rahul Gandhi's allegations on Election Commission
Earlier in the month of April, Rahul Gandhi had said during a program in Boston, America that the Election Commission is no longer impartial, it has been compromised. Citing polling data from the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, he had alleged that it was physically impossible for lakhs of votes to be cast in the last two hours.
The 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections were a well-planned plan to harm democracy, Rahul wrote on X. He further claimed in the tweet that the BJP is now eyeing the Bihar Assembly elections, which are scheduled to be held later this year. Rahul Gandhi wrote, the match-fixing that happened in Maharashtra will now happen in Bihar and then it will reach every place where the BJP is losing.
In his article, Rahul said that the Modi government changed the law related to the appointment of election commissioners in 2023 and tilted it in favor of the central government. Rahul termed it as 'manipulation of the panel for appointment of umpires' and wrote that the selection committee formed under the new law consists of the Prime Minister, a Union Cabinet Minister and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha/Leader of the largest opposition party. This selection committee then recommends the name of the Chief Election Commissioner or Election Commissioners to the President.
Rahul raised the question that why the Chief Justice of the country was removed from the selection committee and a cabinet minister was appointed? He wrote, ask yourself. Why would anyone remove a neutral judge from such an impartial institution and appoint his own man?
Rahul further said, it is not difficult to understand why BJP was so desperate in Maharashtra, but rigging is like match-fixing, the team that cheats may win the game, but it harms the institutions and the public loses faith in the results.
He said, every aware Indian should see these evidences. They should take a decision after thinking and demand answers. Because this match-fixing of Maharashtra will now be repeated in Bihar and then there too… wherever BJP will be losing. Match-fixed elections are like poison for any democracy.
