Akhilesh Slams BJP Over Fertilizer Lathi Charge

There is a shortage of fertilizer among the farmers in UP. Due to which farmers are wandering around. UP police was also seen lathi-charging the farmers asking for fertilizer. Now in the matter of fertilizer crisis, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has surrounded the Yogi government. Akhilesh Yadav said, the BJP government has created a crisis in front of the farmers. Farmers are not getting fertilizer for crops. The season of transplanting Kharif crop, especially paddy, is going on. Farmers need DAP, urea for crops, but there is a fertilizer crisis in every district of the state. There is no fertilizer in the cooperative societies. Private sellers are doing black marketing, profiteering and over-rating. Farmers are wandering around due to the negligence and lax attitude of the department and the government.

Akhilesh Yadav said that there is a fertilizer crisis in many districts including Gonda, Basti, Hathras, Sitapur, Lakhimpur Kheri. Farmers are worried. Ever since the BJP government came to power, farmers have been facing a fertilizer crisis every year. Along with male farmers, women also have to stand in line at cooperative societies since morning for fertilizer. Even after standing in line for several hours, farmers do not get fertilizer. The pain of the farmers increases further when instead of fertilizer they get lathicharge and harassment by the police.

Akhilesh Yadav said that on July 16, farmers reached Sankar Bhadura, a multipurpose cooperative society in Srinagar of Lakhimpur Kheri district, to get fertilizer. There were a large number of men and women among them. Farmers did not get fertilizer. Police lathicharged. Many people have been injured. Women were also beaten and insulted. Farmers are being humiliated for asking for fertilizer in the BJP government. This is shameful, highly condemnable and extremely unfortunate. Similarly, many cooperative societies in Hathras district do not have DAP and urea. In Gonda district, many societies have fertilizers only on paper. When farmers go to get fertilizers, they get post-dated orders instead of fertilizers.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP government is constantly cheating the farmers. The government has ruined the entire situation. Now even the raids of ministers and officials have no effect. False promises were made to the farmers. The BJP government, which promised to double the income of farmers, is now unable to provide fertilizers, seeds, electricity, water and pesticides to the farmers for their crops. The farmers of the state will remove this anti-farmer government in the 2027 assembly elections and form a farmer-friendly Samajwadi Party government.
