Amit Shah Slams Congress for Ignoring Sardar Pate
Digital Desk
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday accused the Congress Party of neglecting Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy and delaying the conferment of the Bharat Ratna on him by four decades. Shah made the remarks while addressing a press conference in Patna, ahead of Patel’s 150th birth anniversary on October 31.
“Although Bihar is in election mode, I’ve called this press conference to share details about the parade being organized tomorrow to celebrate Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary,” Shah said.
Highlighting Patel’s crucial role in uniting India post-Independence, Shah announced that the Ministry of Home Affairs will now hold a grand National Unity Day parade every October 31 to mark the Iron Man’s legacy.
‘Congress responsible for 40-year delay in Bharat Ratna’
Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Shah said,
“There was a delay of 40 years in conferring the Bharat Ratna on Sardar Patel, and this delay was entirely due to the Congress. During their rule, no memorial or monument was ever built in his honour.”
He added that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government that finally paid true tribute to Patel by building the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue.
Visit to Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple
Following the press conference, Shah visited Patna’s Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple, where he offered prayers before proceeding to his scheduled election rallies.
Grand preparations in Lakhisarai
In Lakhisarai, elaborate arrangements have been made for Shah’s rally, including 20,000 chairs, drinking water, parking, and seating facilities. The district administration and police have enforced tight security, with drone surveillance and additional personnel deployed. Officials are also conducting frequent inspections to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
