Amit Shah Targets Opposition on PM-CM Removal Bill

Slamming the opposition, Amit Shah said they even want to run the government from jail. He asserted that the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill will surely be passed in Parliament.
Amid the ongoing controversy over the PM-CM removal bill introduced in Parliament, i.e. the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a scathing attack on the opposition. In an interview, Amit Shah said that the opposition is hurting the dignity of democracy by opposing this bill. He asked, 'Can any Chief Minister (CM), Prime Minister (PM) or Minister run the government from jail. They want to get the option to run the government from jail. Amit Shah said that even today they are trying that if they ever go to jail, they will easily form the government from the jail itself. The jail itself will be made CM House, PM House and the DGP, Chief Secretary, Cabinet Secretary or Home Secretary will take orders from the jail itself.
In fact, the Center had introduced the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill in the Lok Sabha on August 20. After this, the Prime Minister, Chief Minister or any minister will have to resign if they are arrested or detained for 30 days. The condition is that the crime for which the detention or arrest has taken place should have a provision of punishment of 5 years or more. The opposition is opposing this.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused Congress and Rahul Gandhi of adopting double standards. He also expressed confidence that many people in the opposition will also support the bill on moral grounds.
The Home Minister clearly said that the provisions of this bill are necessary for the dignity of democracy. According to him, if any Prime Minister, Chief Minister or Minister is arrested on serious charges and does not get bail within 30 days, then he will have to resign. He asked, "If bail is granted, then they can take oath again and assume office, but is it appropriate for democracy to run the government from jail?
Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Modi himself had insisted on including his post in this bill. He said, "The PM himself had asked to include the post of Prime Minister in it. Now if the Prime Minister goes to jail, he will have to resign.
