Another Land Scam Alleged Against Ajit Pawar’s Son’s Firm in Bopodi; Case Filed Against Nine

A fresh controversy has emerged involving Amedia Holdings, a company owned by Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Authorities have registered a case against nine individuals, including the company’s director, over allegations of government land grabbing and document forgery in the Bopodi area of Pune.

The complaint was filed by Naib Tehsildar Pravina Shashikant Borde at Khadak Police Station. According to officials, the alleged incident took place at the Mamledar Kacheri on Chhatrapati Shivaji Road between February 12, 2024, and July 1, 2025. Borde lodged the complaint as an authorized government officer, citing irregularities in the use of land under the Agriculture Department’s jurisdiction.

This comes shortly after a separate land dispute in Mundhwa, Pune, where Parth Pawar’s company was accused of acquiring government land worth ₹1,800 crore for just ₹300 crore. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced on November 6 that the Mundhwa land deal has now been cancelled, with both parties required to pay ₹21 crore each as part of the settlement.

The controversial Mundhwa transaction also drew criticism from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who alleged that government land reserved for Dalits was sold at a steep discount and with waived stamp duty, calling it “land theft sanctioned by the government.”

Authorities have suspended an officer in connection with the Bopodi case and formed a high-level committee to investigate both incidents. The Pune Registration Inspector General submitted an interim report to Mumbai’s Additional Chief Secretary on November 6. The committee is expected to submit its final findings by November 16.

The ongoing investigations underscore growing concerns over governance and transparency in government land transactions in Maharashtra, with political and public scrutiny intensifying ahead of the committee’s report.
