BJP announces a month-long nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to mark PM Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public office, with welfare and service activities.
The BJP will launch a month-long nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public office, with service activities, welfare outreach and programmes involving youth planned across the country.
The announcement was made on Saturday by BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde after deliberations involving the party’s newly appointed national office-bearers, state presidents and organisational leaders. The campaign will also commemorate the 25th anniversary of Modi taking oath as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001.
Month-Long Campaign Planned
The BJP traditionally organises Seva Pakhwada around Prime Minister Modi’s birthday on September 17. This year, the party has decided to expand the service-oriented programme into a month-long nationwide campaign under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ banner.
The programme is intended to highlight public service and encourage wider participation in community-oriented activities.
The campaign comes ahead of October 7, when Modi will complete 25 years since first taking oath as Gujarat Chief Minister.
Seva Setu Outreach
One of the major components will be the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’, designed to help people who may have been left out of government welfare schemes.
According to Tawde, the initiative will operate at the block level. People will be able to bring the required documents and seek assistance with forms and procedures to access eligible government schemes.
The BJP says the programme is aimed at improving awareness and helping eligible beneficiaries connect with welfare measures.
Anganwadi Workers Honoured
The campaign will also include outreach at more than 14 lakh Anganwadi centres across the country.
BJP workers are expected to organise programmes honouring Anganwadi workers for their contribution to child nutrition, early care and delivery of welfare services at the grassroots level.
The initiative places frontline community workers at the centre of one of the party’s major service activities during the campaign.
Youth Asked to Serve
The BJP also plans to encourage young people and members of the public to participate in acts of community service.
Under ‘Seva Mein Mera Yogdan’, people will be encouraged to undertake activities such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation and welfare initiatives. Participants will also be encouraged to share videos or reels of their activities to inspire wider participation.
The party is particularly seeking greater engagement with young people through these activities.
Modi@25 Campaign
The BJP's programme is linked to the political milestone of Modi completing 25 years in constitutional public office.
Modi became Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001, beginning a continuous period in executive office that later saw him become Prime Minister in 2014. He served as Gujarat Chief Minister for nearly 13 years before moving to national politics.
The party plans to use the anniversary to highlight Modi’s political journey, governance record and welfare initiatives.
Exhibitions and Seminars
The BJP is also planning photo and digital exhibitions highlighting Modi’s 25-year political journey.
According to the plans announced by the party, seminars and intellectual forums will focus on themes such as good governance, development and Antyodaya, while interactive programmes will be organised with young people and other sections of society.
The campaign will therefore combine service activities with political and public outreach.
Nationwide Political Outreach
The announcement comes as the BJP's newly appointed national office-bearers begin their organisational work under new party president Nitin Nabin.
State-level teams will coordinate the programmes and oversee implementation across different parts of the country. The campaign is expected to run through multiple phases, covering welfare outreach, community service and public engagement.
The BJP's stated objective is to connect the anniversary with public participation rather than limit it to internal party celebrations.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
The BJP will now prepare detailed state-level programmes for the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, including service activities, Anganwadi outreach, welfare-scheme assistance and youth participation.
The campaign will culminate around the period marking Modi's 25th year in public office. October 7, 2026, marks 25 years since he first became Gujarat Chief Minister.
The scale of the programme will make it an important organisational and political outreach exercise for the BJP ahead of the next phase of its national campaign.
